WATCH KINGS OF LEON, LIVE ON STAGE IN LONDON, AUGUST 9th, 2013!


Kings of Leon is a Grammy winning American rock band that originated in Talihina, Oklahoma and formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999. The band is composed of brothers Anthony Followill, lead vocals & rhythm guitar, Ivan Followill, drums, percussion & back up vocals and Michael Followill, bass guitar & back up vocals, with their cousin Cameron Followill, lead guitar & back up vocals. The group is named for their grandfather Leon from Talihina, Oklahoma.

The three Followill brothers (Matthew was their cousin) grew up in Oklahoma with their father, Ivan Leon Followill, a United Pentecostal Church preacher, and their mother, Betty-Ann.

The band's first record, titled the Holy Roller Novocaine EP, was released on February 18, 2003. The release of Holy Roller Novocaine gave the Kings of Leon a significant amount of exposure, receiving a 4/5 star rating from Rolling Stone magazine.
The band released its first DVD, Live at the O2 London, England, on November 10, 2009. The footage was filmed in London's O2 Arena on June 30, 2009, when the band performed a 22-song set in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 18,000 fans.

Alternative rock band Kings of Leon will be the latest to perform a live YouTube concert as part of American Express’s“Unstaged” series on VEVO August 9 at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET.

The concert, which will be before the September 20 release of their sixth studio album “Mechanical Bull,” will take place at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire concert hall. Comedian Fred Armisen will direct the “Unstaged” episode which will let viewers experience the concert from different vantage points, including a view from the stage.
