10TH ANNUAL GUERRILLA TRUCK SHOW, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

The Guerrilla Truck show was begun 10 years by Morlen Sinoway. He is the principal at Morlen Sinoway Atelier: a multi-disciplined design studio and sales organization with an artful focus on design past, present, and future. The Atelier is located at: 1052 W. Fulton Market, Chicago, Illinois. (http://morlensinoway.com/)
The Guerrilla Truck show coincides with Neocon (http://www.neocon.com/), the world’s largest Contract Furnishings International Trade Fair which is held annually at the Chicago Merchandise Mart.

This is a unique way for artists and designers to display their creativity in a Rented Truck. Voila, instant gallery.
The show has grown from 10 exhibitors to a maximum of 60 exhibitors. Exhibitors are allowed to display their items in an affordable venue and create an interest with the retail buyers from Neocon.

This years Guerrilla Truck show was held on Tuesday, June 10th, 2014. 60 eager exhibitors pulled up to the docks of Fulton Street Market. Interestingly, this is where purveyors of meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, cold storage sell their products to restaurants, grocery stores, deli's during the work week.
So what an artistic transformation on June 10th!

My son, Mathew who is a graduate student at School of the Art Institute, Chicago (SAIC), was chosen to be one of the exhibitors. He cast 10 molds of concrete lamps which can be used to create either a soft or a focused light. He stirred a lot of interest amongst the crowd.

I give credit to the 60 Exhibitors, vendors and buyers who endeared another one Chicago's historic thunderstorms!
If you get a chance in 2015 to visit this unique venue (I encourage you to go!), you will not be disappointed.
P.S. Admission is FREE!!!
